Molecular Gastronomy Party
Food Science Parties in Northern Virginia
“Molecular gastronomy is a subdiscipline of food science that investigates, explains, and makes practical use of the physical and chemical transformations of ingredients that occur during the cooking process.” Or, in plain English: edible science!
At STEM Kids of Northern Virginia, we believe that combining two of kids’ favorite things — hands-on excitement and delicious party favors — is the recipe for a great party!
Kids Cooking Party
Cooking can be a lot of fun especially when you throw science equipment and techniques into the mix, like dry ice/or liquid nitrogen, syringes, tubing, and special molds. And, when you use exciting techniques like emulsification, gelification, and spherification — the fun-meter goes way up!
During our molecular gastronomy party. kids will take regular foods, such as strawberry and mangoes and transform them into fun shapes using fun and exciting science experiments.
Your kids will love experimenting with the fun, new food prep techniques. And, the added bonus is your kids will get to try out the fantastic food they create — like ice cream!
